About me :)

Hi, I’m Anna—the face behind Anna Anglin Photography. I’m originally from Germany and now call Virginia home, where I live with my husband and our three incredible kids. We’re an active duty military family, so Virginia is our current place of living and where I get to serve my wonderful clients. Being a mom has been the greatest joy of my life, and it’s also been the spark that pushed me to finally embrace a lifelong passion: photography.

My Journey into Photography

Looking back at old photo albums, I realize how often I had a camera in my hand. I even remember receiving a book about camera settings as a birthday gift when I was younger. Photography has always been part of me, but for years something held me back.

Was it a lack of confidence? A fear of not being “creative enough”? The pressure to follow a traditional career path instead of chasing something I loved? I honestly don’t know.

So I did what felt right at the time—I pursued academics, completed my Master’s degree in Psychology, and eventually moved to the United States.

The Turning Point

It wasn’t until I became a mother that things began to shift. Friends and family started to comment on my “eye” for photography—the way I noticed details, angles, and genuine moments. Then, on October 19th, 2024, my husband gave me the encouragement I needed. He spoke with so much confidence about my talents and the possibilities ahead of me. That conversation changed everything.

From that day on, I have worked on this business every single day. Every bit of free time, energy, and savings has gone into building my dream of becoming a photographer.

My Philosophy

For me, photography isn’t just about pretty pictures. It’s about creating images that make you feel something—photos that capture connections, preserve emotions, and bring back memories you’ll want to hold onto forever.

As a Virginia lifestyle photographer, I focus on family, maternity, newborn, and branding sessions. My greatest goal is to make you feel comfortable and seen, so your session feels natural and full of joy.

Beyond Photography

While photography is my passion, I’m also many other things: a mom, a wife, a good friend, and part of an active duty military family. Each of those roles shapes how I see the world and how I approach every photography session—with patience, empathy, and love.
