The Beauty of Seasonal Mini Sessions
One of my favorite offerings throughout the year is my seasonal mini sessions. I love keeping things simple—minimal setup, natural backdrops, and a focus on authentic connection. Most of my minis take place outdoors, where the beauty of each season shines on its own. Whether it’s the blooming greens of spring, the vibrant leaves of fall, the cozy sparkle of winter, or the playful warmth of summer, nature always provides the perfect setting.
Letting the Seasons Speak for Themselves
Spring and fall tend to be the most popular times for mini sessions—families love the colorful flowers and golden tones that make these months feel so magical. But I also adore capturing winter and summer minis, especially with fun, themed details. Think cozy Christmas sessions, bright strawberries and watermelons, or even playful water splash moments in a nearby creek. Each season brings its own charm and personality to your family story.
Why Mini Sessions Are So Special
Mini sessions are designed to be short, sweet, and stress-free—typically 10–20 minutes long. That time frame often hits the sweet spot for families with young children who want a handful of updated family photos without committing to a full session. Minis are also offered at a special price point, making them a great opportunity to refresh your family portraits a few times a year.
How Mini Sessions Work
Mini sessions are held at a pre-selected location and scheduled back-to-back so multiple families can enjoy their session within a few hours. This setup is what makes them such a great deal—but it also means timing is crucial. Arriving on time ensures that each family gets their full session experience without delays for others.
Because of the short duration, mini sessions are best suited for capturing a beautiful variety of portraits within one setting. While they can absolutely be used for family, maternity, new baby, or senior photos, it’s important to set expectations—outfit changes or multiple locations aren’t possible in this format.
A Win-Win for Everyone
Overall, seasonal mini sessions are a wonderful balance—families receive fresh, updated memories in a fun, easygoing session, and I get to meet and photograph so many amazing people throughout the year. Each season brings something special, and I’m always inspired by the genuine joy, laughter, and connection that come to life in these quick but meaningful sessions.
If you’re thinking about booking a mini session, keep an eye out for my spring and fall announcements—they tend to fill up quickly! I can’t wait to capture your family this season.
